[ Noctis could never disappoint any of them. Gladio may have tough words for him, Ignis may constantly remind him to stay in line, Prompto will be there to cheer him up with his never ending source of sunshine and happiness, and Luna will always be there to reassure him that he can and will do this. That he will fulfill his destiny and all will end well in the long run. They all have fates that must play out, after all.
War is hell, no matter how it plays out. Innocents are always going to lose their lives, people are going to suffer on both sides. War is hell, and unfortunately sometimes a necessary evil. But this particular war is one they are going to win -- when peace returns to the lands and darkness is no longer a threat, she looks forward to holding a proper ceremony for those who sacrificed so much and gave their lives and everything to protect their lands, their King, their homes.
A content sigh escapes, and her lips tug up into an almost lazy smile as he pulls her close and keeps his arms around her. She could get used to this, really, could melt into him and and never think twice about it. His presence is such a source of comfort and warmth, much like his handwriting on the blank pages of their shared notebook had been for many years. But to have him here, in the flesh, to he able to feel him and hear him breathing, it's just such a reassurance to her.
She'd do anything to be able to stay like this with him forever, honestly, but she knows soon enough he's going to have to continue on his way. For now, she is content to bask in everything that is him, his warmth and gentleness, his voice, his everything. ]
Yes... we will be able to go back and forth as we please. Or anywhere, really... wherever makes you happiest, wherever you want to go I will gladly follow. [ She closes her eyes for a few moments, enjoying the temporary serenity that seems to be surrounding the room. This is a nice little break from the horrors and chaos of the last few weeks. ]
